Potential Acquisition of African Assets

On 29 November 2006, the Company announced that it had entered into heads of agreement with New World Alloys Limited (“NWA”)
regarding the potential acquisition of NWA’s African subsidiaries which hold its African assets. The Company announces that after
preliminary due diligence in relation to the acquisition, it has decided to terminate discussions relating to the transaction.
