Sandfire have to be close to calling it quits on their VMS Degrussa exploration of which they’ve been spending $50m pa in exploration. Truth is the mine is less than 10 years old, the people and equipment are worth a motza.. and how do you utilise that without a mine life extension? Buy another UG copper mine in WA, shift all the jumbos and relevant equip and personnel down there, maintain ur relationship with copper smelters in Asia.. etc etc. The new reserves at Nifty are well over 2% Cu so a company of Sandfire talent should get this to work..
