Thought Id resurrect the News Flow thread.
I am bemused at the fact that here in Broken Hill, other than for a day or two after say an ABC interview or news item, still very few people talking much about HIO , but lots of people are talking about COB.
It seems that to the people here , COB is a far more "tangible" thing because they now have a processing plant operating in town and locals are going to work there every day , whereas HIO has no real presence in town as the drillers are living out on site and most would be FIFO types going to other cities on their days off. Seems that to most BH townsfolk, HIO is just another mining lease/drilling operation "out there" . I was talking to a 3rd generation local on the weekend, waxing lyrical about how huge HIO was going to be, he just wasn't that excited -a "too good to be true" kind of reaction , which is quite common here.
To be fair, we've seen our share of big talking projects come to nothing (or worse) over the last 20-30 years.
Personally, I think HIO needs a publicity officer (and office) of some kind in town who could provide a continuous information flow on HIOs' activities , developments,prospects etc--COB has been engaging face to face with locals for the last 18 months with open days ,meetings and so on and the difference in awareness is stark.
They definitely need to do more locally--and it would cost bugger all really, but I don't think its high on their priority list right now. Whatever.-,--

This opportunistic BS piece about HIO was put out today by Motley Fool (googled it thanks to someones post today) -

Yep y'all better sell out now , because HIO is NOT recommended by the MF Gurus Mr Philips et al --which is why they are writing newsletters and not making the big $$$$$ on the stock market themselves---imo..

We must be doing something right then.....keep calm and hold on .
