    No worries Stinger.
Yes none of the newsletter factories survive any serious long term performance testing. Their criteria for employment is to be a very good copywriter (code for convincing written sales talk), financial experience very secondary.
My brother asked an old school friend of mine (a retired stockbroker) about HIO.
His response-"dont touch it, that stuff is just for idiots"--(I'm a massive idiot then lol)
Wisely,he ignored that advice and bought a good parcel at 10c

The stockbroker, however , also needs a dose of DYOR.
His history was he specialised in options trading as well as the normal investment side.He made millions , but lost more millions (and wives) than he made, and currently "retired" aged around 70 living in rented accommodation and surviving on occasional part time work from old colleagues.
So yeah track records are very important for racehorses, "advisers" , talking heads , newsletters and all who seek to advise you (after you give them money)

--Woody Allen said "A broker is someone who invests your money for you until it's all gone" lol
Same could be said for the MF types.
Obviously, if you could make big $$ with your market smarts , why would you bother with newsletter writing??
