    What you have put in speech marks as something Hipkins actually said - Chris Hipkins says Australia "can keep their subs to themselves because they're not welcome in New Zealand's nuclear free waters” - is not an exact quote. It’s one journo’s interpretation of what his comments can be construed as meaning.
    His actual quoted comments - speech marks as per the article - are far milder, as below:

    Hipkins said Aotearoa is "not part of the arrangement [and we] won't be part of that arrangement".

    And the submarines won't be welcomed to New Zealand's nuclear-free waters.

    "Our policy on that won't change," Hipkins told Newshub.


    All pretty ho-hum really. New Zealand has had the nuclear free policy in place since 1984. For almost 40 years in other words. There is no need for the unhinged xenophobic rants against New Zealanders that have cropped up in this thread. Typical far right Australian’s exposing their very ugly mindset, yet again.
