Went to South Island last year, landed in Queenstown. Beautiful restaurants down at steamer wharf. Went jetboating on the river. Didn't get time to go horseriding so on list for next time. Took lift up mountain to restaurant. The scenery is beautiful. Gotta do weather checks though. We got there just after they had 10days straight rain!!!!
Southern lakes, Te Anua. Milford sound - try to pick a good day though, we had heavy rain and had to try again. Driving on icy wet road through hole in mountain was scary as. Keia(sp?) bird tried to hitch a ride. Went on boat to fjord, very interesting. Drove to Dunedin and looked around and then back to Queenstown. Only had a week but did a lot of driving. Found georgeous little towns south of Dunedin just following our noses.
Haven't been to north yet.
Will def. return, either cruise both north and south or fly.
