    Press Release: Paymark
Service focus sees TSB sign to full independent ATM service

Following the successful pilot of the Independent ATM network, TSB Bank has signed up to the permanent production service.

Paymark, along with partners ATM Plus and NZ ATM, piloted Independent ATMs in New Zealand from mid-2008 to mid-2009, following extensive research on overseas models.

These ATMs are independent of bank-owned machines and charge a nominal convenience fee to cover the cost of the transaction. They proved incredibly popular during the pilot, particularly in remote locations and tourist spots and have already dispensed $22 million to cardholders.

Charles Duke, TSB Bank technology services manager, says “We have been very impressed with how the Independent ATM pilot has progressed and were very keen to move into full production. _The network provides service benefits to our customers above and beyond those we provide, including wider access to their money no matter where they may be.”

Along with TSB Bank customers, Westpac, BNZ, Kiwibank and Rabobank card holders are currently able to use Independent ATMs. Discussions are continuing with other card issuers to allow their customers to access the network.
