newbie

Hi,

I'm new to shares and to hotcopper, and I've started by doing a bit of reading and self-teaching. My goal this year is to educate myself about shares and trading as much as possible, so that hopefully by next year I can try it out by either paper trading, or (hopefully) with real money.

I was recommended this site as a good place to start to learn. However it appears it is run in a slightly different format than I'm used to seeing with most forums e.g. there's no forum index I can see which lists the topics and threads, but rather a category of forums that displays posts individually. Because of this I can't seem to see any "stickies" or popular threads for newbies on advice of where to start.

I'm not sure if I'm looking at the forum in the right way or if it's just not what I'm not used to. Would anybody possibly be able to point me in the right direction for a newbie to shares on a good place on hotcopper to start?
