    Hi Nicky

I have no problems with clubs supporting player welfare, especially young guys living away from family etc - irrespective whether they are Islanders, Anglos, Maori, Aborigines, Eskimoes or Scotsmen (in the case of James McManus).

That support would not extend to a player who hadn't even been to a training session and is lucky not to have been charged with attempted murder. Anyway, that's where you and I differ. No point going over it again.

The NRL integrity commission has no role in punishing players for street crime. It was set up as a 'response' to the Crime Commission's report into drugs in sport. It is to deal with performance enhancing drugs, gambling and corruption - ie 'integrity' issues not street crime, no matter how serious.
