There is the 'story' doing the rounds that some significant money is starting to flow into the big unhedged gold producers because of the'shortage' of the "physical",

Unable to get delivery of bullion in adequate quantity or at a price consistent with the stated Comex price it would seem that the big gold producers are the "next best thing".

Dunno about the credibility of all this but it's one currently being touted.
