Criminal records can be suppressed after a certain amount of time. The statement in the annoucement was very carefully worded to not state that Richard hadn't been convicted of a crime, just he did not have a criminal record at the time the prospectus was issued.

Just on principle I would never invest in a company run by someone who was convicted of the crime Richard was. He was no young teenager at the time either (he was 26). People here seem willing to overlook any sort of bad behaviour if it makes them money.
