Newmont wants the copper in the Paterson. At Minyari Dome, the ore is 0.19% copper.
Minyari Dome's current mining plan is projected to be 3Mt per annum over 7 years. 3Mt @ 0.19% copper is 5,700t.
The metallurgical testing has an 85% recovery rate for the copper, which equals 4,845t copper produced per annum.
4,845 multiplied by the current Australian copper spot price of $12,630 equals = $61,192,350 million per annum!
Multiply that by 7 years mine life, and we're talking nearly half $billion dollars of added value to the project!... that's just from the copper, which isn't included in scoping study
Newmont will takeover AZY, it's just a matter of when. I think in the exploration and discovery cycle, AZY have positioned themselves perfectly to be at the forefront of large new discoveries.
