AIM TO HAVE RICH PERKOA ZINC MINE
    IN PRODUCTION BY EARLY 2009
Aim Resourcres Ltd, the Australian company developing the first zinc mine in west
Africa, says first production can be expected from the Perkoa project in Burkina Faso
    by 2009.
Addressing the first day in Perth today of the 2007 Paydirt Africa DownUnder
Conference, AIM¡¯s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Marc Flory, said the Company had
just completed a new drilling campaign to expand Perkoa¡¯s current proved and
probable reserves of 6.3 million tonnes at 14.5% zinc for 1.1 million tonnes of
    contained metal.
¡°We drilled nine holes over 2,000 metres last month and expect assay result shortly
but there were clearly significant sulphide identification there,¡± Mr Flory said.
¡°There is little doubt this is going to be one of the richest zinc mines in the world, and
we expect to get back at least another 1.5% in head grade to lift total grade to around
    16%.
¡°Current indications are for a mine life of 12 years but we expect that to be extended.¡±
Mr Flory said siteworks and infrastructure were significantly advanced with the box
cut now complete and the development of the portal to commence shortly.
¡°We will commence mining in the next three months and stockpile for eight months
or so before moving towards producing by the end of next year into early 2009.¡±
¡°All schedules are on track and we remain focused on output of around 525,000
tonnes per annum at full production for 70,000 tonnes of zinc annually,¡± Mr Flory
said. It is AIM¡¯s view that the current strong zinc market is likely to continue with
high demand and prices, driven by dwindling world stock.¡±
Perkoa is 100% owned by AIM Resources, which has sales agreements in place with
the Votorantim Group for offtake of about one third of Perkoa¡¯s zinc concentrates.
Letters of Intent have also been signed with Xtrata and Boliden.
