I don't think its a saving. I may get shot for this, but the way I understand it is this:
The earn-out is a function of the amount of money that the DiaSource business generates. Whilst a lower earnout is good for the short term and current cashflow, it means diasource are not making as much money as we once thought?... Am I misreading the situation? So its either a) you bought a great business but the price is high and you may not be able to afford it or b) you bought a good (but not great) business that you can afford.
