Why is everyone talking like this is bad news? We've known that the demerger isn't going to go ahead and the board have now accepted that. As far as 'money bags' getting his way, isn't it good that he's created conversation? Something like 95% or so of resolutions are usually done via proxy. Small shareholders rarely get involved but now they are. Admittidy though, it's not the regular shareholders that will make the difference this time, it's the institutions. Why are we talking about the share price falling? To me, talk of any new takeover should boost the price right?
