The announcement of Telstra energy retail licence, plus the entry of Shell Oil into industrial / commercial markets and Enel also looking for an entry - will surely reduce the immediate forward value of new AGL retail... more genuine competition = higher churn and lower margin for AGL.
I had been approaching a point where I thought the SP may actually float for a while (based on the future value of NEW Agl Retail) - now I fully expect the next round of broker reports to reduce their valuations.
$5 is a long way from where AGL once was... will it get that low?
