I agree - a graph without a scale isn't always the most beneficial, but it would be highly unlikely they would release a graph of resource if the majority of it was below 11kmh (3 ms) as that is the floor before turbines start to generate. If the resource wasn't good - it would have been enough to disregard the opportunity and not present the result. End of the day - I was already invested there. The confirmation of the resource profile doesn't diminish the value of my investment at all - rather, it solidifies it - that plus their stated plans (with equity partner J Power) to have this asset built and operational by 2026.
I was already aware of the wind profile of that region of QLD via my own research - so I am positive on its outcome - but validation is always welcome.
More specific to AGL - it needs to increase the stated plan of 5Gw of renewables by 2030 (which the majority will likely be via PPA). Its unlikely to be enough to meet their client load once coal has exited without resorting to gas or another FF generator fuel... personally I think it should be closer to 8Gw minimum...if that capacity was built in NSW or QLD there would likely be incentives on offer from the government in QLD in particular, which has set some very ambitious targets from a standing start.... plus it would also benefit from a different generation profile to that of VIC & SAs wind farms also... creating a stronger NEM as a whole.
AFAIK - to date - AGL has not participated in any of the REZ tenders... this needs to change
