from 25/10... this is QLD alone.

"FMG's FFI is also building large wind farms in QLD (Clark Creek 450Mw - eventually 1.2Gw total), plus QLD Government (500Mw), Plus Iberdola (1Gw+), Plus Forest Wind (1.2Gw)... there is over 5Gw already in the pipeline easily for QLD..."

NSW Rez's - these are at varied stages of development... Dubbo being the oldest and most advanced. Point to highlight is how much interest was expressed - I know it will not all get developed, but would be interesting to know how successful applicants are selected...
Dubbo: This zone will ultimately supply 3Gw of renewables by 2030 - zone will contain 5 wind farms... scoping currently underway and community engagement early 2023. Environmental impact statement underway now. (this includes Liverpool Wind Farm)
"In June 2020, we received 113 registrations of interest for the Central-West Orana REZ, representing 27 gigawatts of new energy generation and storage projects. This interest from the private sector significantly exceeds the amount of energy required to deliver the REZ. It will help to ensure a competitive tender process and drive improved outcomes for host communities."

New England: This zone will ultimately supply 8Gw of renewables - there is no stated timeframe here yet
"In 2021, the NSW Government received 80 registrations of interest, totalling 34 gigawatts of potential renewable energy projects. The number of responses to the ROI reflects the strong level of interest in the REZ and helps ensure only the most competitive projects will be chosen through the Consumer Trustees competitive tender processes."

South West: this zone will ultimately supply 2.5Gw of renewables
"The ROI closed on 24 November 2021 and attracted 49 registrations of interest for the South-West REZ, representing 34 gigawatts from potential generation and storage projects. This is more than 13 times the intended capacity of 2.5 gigawatts."

Hunter and Central Coast: this zone includes offshore "The Hunter-Central Coast REZ intended network capacity of 1 gigawatt does not include the Hunter Transmission Project which would deliver up to 8 gigawatts of additional transfer capacity from inland REZs to support the decarbonisation of existing industries (such as Tomago Aluminium) and the growth of emerging technologies (such as hydrogen)."

"The Hunter-Central Coast REZ attracted a significant response with commercial interest in renewable generation and storage projects representing almost 40 gigawatts and more than $100 billion of potential investment.

Illawarra: Big benefit of this zone is that it can connect to already existing infrastructure.
"The Illawarra REZ ROI attracted a significant response with over $43 billion in potential investment registered. 44 projects were registered, potentially delivering over 17 gigawatts of generation and storage capacity.

In summary, industry interest has been registered in:10 wind generation projects with 8 located offshore,5 solar projects,16 energy storage projects including 11 batteries,4 pumped hydro projects,4 hydrogen production and 2 hydrogen electricity generation projects, and3 new load projects including green steel manufacturing.

In summary, these commercial parties registered interest in:24 solar energy projects,13 onshore and seven offshore wind energy projects,35 large-scale batteries, and eight pumped hydro projects."

On a separate post on renew economy it also mentions that WA government is doing scope studies for looking at establishing their own wind turbine industry

I said it before... just because there isn't an industry now... doesn't mean there will not be one later.
