There were a couple of practical reasons why I accepted the offer when I did.

1. I don't have access to the postal service every day of the week so have to post stuff when I know I'll be near a mail box. That was last Friday morning before extra deferrals from Brookfield became known.

2. A year or so back SAI Global had the offer of a bid and the share price jumped to match the bid and the expectation of a bidding war. Nothing happened and the price fell back and has, pretty much, stayed there.

3. Brookfield's is, as yet, the only firm offer available. It's not my preference, but look back at reason 2.

Doubling my money is a nice enough profit.
