MUNICH, Feb 23 (Reuters) - German aircraft engine maker MTU Aero Engines MTXGn.DE is not expecting any impact from plans by Airbus AIR.PA to renegotiate with buyers of the A400M military transporter, executives said on Thursday.
"We have a contract with Airbus and we have fulfilled that," MTU Chief Executive Reiner Winkler said after the company reported 2016 results.
Airbus said on Wednesday that recent problems with engine gearboxes and delays in supplying defensive aids had led to severe penalties, bureaucratic arguments and cash being held back by governments.
Chief Programme Officer Michael Schreyoegg said after a fix for the engine's gearbox was approved in the summer the partners in the engine for the A400M were working on more modifications for the engine, which were in the process of being developed and certified and which could be installed from September.
