News: AJL Tests at Cuadrilla's UK fracking site show substantial gas flows, page-5

It's very promising.  I've always maintained that we will see substantial improvements from the first well as techniques are refined over time.  This is a higher baseline than I had imagined for the first well, so it is a positive in my book.  That said, it is right in-line with what the well engineers had estimated.  

Now we go to BEIS with reams of data and actual flow results.  Anti-frackers go to BEIS and whine, as they always do, about the death and destruction caused by fracking.  But this time they do it with enormous amounts of egg on their faces.  A well has been fracked and there has been no deaths.  Tap water does not catch fire.  Parts of Lancs have not fallen into the sea.  Babies aren't being born prematurely in greater numbers.  Cancer rates have not increased.  The greatest local disruptions have been due to protesters, not due to Cuadrilla's operations.  None of this escapes the notice of decision-makers.  Let's hope those in power stand up for their constituents who voted for onshore gas exploration in the Manifesto, and apply workable thresholds in the TLS, in-line with thresholds in other industries.
