News: Alexium International Group delivers FR nylon-cotton fabric to Natick

Alexium International Group (ASX:AJX, AX:AJX, OTC QX:AXXIY) has delivered next-generation environmentally flame retardant nylon-cotton fabric to Natick that have exceeded performance  requirements in internal testing.

The delivery is in accordance with Alexium’s contractual position with Batelle to fulfil Natick’s request for the company to help develop the fabric.

This meets one part of the initial down selection round, which is the delivery of an externally certified fabric, which will be followed by two additional down selection rounds in 2015

The remaining down selection rounds will now be undertaken by Natick with the results being delivered within the time frame stipulated in the down select process.

Natick has not revealed exact dates for the next two down selections but has stated they will be inside 2015.

Alexium are well supported with their efforts in Washington DC in navigating the path forward, and have stated that they are very pleased with the progress made to date.

The nylon-cotton fabric being developed has a wide range of applicability in the armed forces, including the Extreme Cold Weather Combat System (ECWCS), the army combat uniform (ACU) and the flame retardant army combat uniform (FRACU). 

Fabric placements into those programs occur outside of Natick, with Alexium aggressively pursuing those placements independently of the effort with Natick.
