Alexium International Group (ASX:AJX, AX:AJX, OTC QX:AXXIY) has received an initial purchase order from another leading supplier to the U.S. Defense Sector.
This is for the shipment of its Alexiflam™ Fire Retardant (FR) technology for a scale up trial for Nylon/Cotton military uniforms.
Pending a successful trial, the company could receive initial revenue of circa US$1 million to fulfil next stage testing for this customer’s products by early 2016.
A comprehensive agreement could address 5% per annum of the global military market, which is currently valued at US$240 million per annum.
This scale up trial builds on the company’s efforts with the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Systems Centre (Natick) to be a key supplier of Eco-Friendly FR solutions in US Department of Defense military uniform programs.
Steve Gravlee, vice president of sales, said:
“Having yet another important supplier to the military market moving to a scale up trial, shows that our Environmentally Friendly Nylon/Cotton FR Alexiflam™ technology meets the rigorous requirements of flame retardancy for military uniforms.”
John Stelling, coordinator of military markets, added:
“This high level of performance combined with cost effectiveness and ease of production transition has proven that Alexiflam™ has become one of the best new products for military needs in this area.”
