Alumina Limited (ASX:AWC) chief executive officer John Bevan will retire at the end of the year and will be succeeded by director Peter Wasow.
Alumina says Mr Bevan will also retire as a director of the company on December 31.
Mr Wasow has more than 30 years of experience in the resources and energy sectors, including as chief financial officer of Santos Limited (ASX:STO) and finance vice-president of BHP Billiton Limited (ASX:BHP).
Peter Day will also join the board as a non-executive director, succeeding Mr Wasow as chair of the board's audit committee.
Alumina chairman John Pizzey says Mr Bevan has steered the company through a difficult period for aluminium markets.
Alumina booked a net loss of $2.6 million in the first half of fiscal 2013.
