Amcor Limited (ASX:AMC) says the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has given unconditional approval for its acquisition of Australian and New Zealand foods packaging business Aperio Group.
The transaction is expected to close in the June quarter this year.
Amcor says the alliance represents an important strategic opportunity for its Asia Pacific packaging business.
Amcor acquired Aperio for $238 million and expects its now expanded flexible packaging business to generate a turnover of around $1.2 billion from its 34 plants across the Asia Pacific.
Amcor reported a net profit of $215.6 million for the six months ending December 2011.
