I found it incredulous that some posters rely on unknown HC avatars and unfounded comments at times to make investment decisions.

Your money and your challenge to protect it. Therefore as a rule:
1. Read company documentation going back a few years
2. Look at current financial, management and product status
3. Look for partners, offtake and related news that can and will affect
4. Read documentation pertaining to roadmap where company is going
5. Consider current and future economic and political climate
6. Judge your own risk
7. Contact company directly (most are happy to talk with shareholders)
8. Then....start to get some input to cross reference from social media.

There are a lot of good, knowledgeable posters on HC, but you have to decide how much work you do yourself before they will engage you.
