what’s interesting is what’s happened in the US is the kind of compression that could happen to AMP - they had 5 year fixed 2% loans which means 3 years losing money - not sure how they or if they could handle a run on deposits. They also had larger onboarding of loans in 20/21 early 22 on those then they are now - when house prices drop further over the next 6 months it will be very interesting to see what happens - also when these fixed rates roll off they got to 6% people will be mass using savings to reduce loans when the bank could become more profitable - crazy to think.
