    Discreet,

PPG has a bunch of poor assets in the rigid plastic's division which they tried to sell back in 2018. They either have to shut it down or invest heavily in it. The problem is that those assets compete with PGH who is the major shareholder of both businesses.

I suspect a Takeover of PPG by PGH will have some issues for the director and major shareholder Ruffy.

PPG actually distributes a lot of product into tier 2 and 3 customers where PGH has no interest in servicing.

PPG also sell to Ruffy's private food business possibly more conflict of interest.

Only if PPG can sell off the rigid division will there be any chance of PGH taking over PPG.

Not a good look if PGH's chairman is buying shares in a takeover target before a takeover occurs!

I have traded in and out of PPG as it is reasonably liquid.
