They are both drugs that have already gone through clinical trials, perhaps a small trial to establish that when mixed together are safe maybe?
But as you can see they have already been used in humans already, I can see where it gets fast tracked on compassionate grounds, hell, if you are going to die anyway then why not use them? they are drugs that are available now anyway, some doctors may use them together off label even?
