Being very cynical of most brokers I sometimes believe, imo, they don’t even care if their own clients get a good deal as long as they get to handle the trades and get the commission and pickup some cheap shares by underwriting and then sell them off at cheap, again commission and even business like a tax loss if it suits. They can always blow off a “bad” CR with the old win some loose some line and likely not noticed at all by fully managed accounts where many would never ask for details of their accounts they just look at the total each FY.
They are a required evil and until every small cap has a benevolent benefactor or enthusiastic holders with endless pockets will continue to be required disliked or not.
