News: API Australian Pharmaceutical Industries gets $509 mln buyout offer from Wesfarmers

    July 12 (Reuters) - Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API) on Monday said it received a buyout offer from retail conglomerate Wesfarmers (WES) which values the pharmaceutical firm at A$679.9 mln ($508.91 mln).

    API shareholders would receive A$1.38 per share, a premium of 20.5% to its last close of A$1.145 on Friday.

    ($1 = 1.3360 Australian dollars)
