GBE have just announced their lease at Kanyika (niobium deposit that has been stalled for the past 4 years) has been extended a further 2 years.
They have done zero to comply with requirements for lease to be extended - in fact media reports state local villagers have proceeded with legal action seeking compensation.
Followed this for a long time which ultimately alluded me to SVM.
ANYWAY this is cause for optimism in that the zero activity at Kanyika could be a direct result of the delays in the tabling and implementation of the new mines and minerals bill which are being tabled now at the current sitting of Parliament.
Can we expect the new bill to be passed sooner than later? I'm getting a little more optimistic by the hour after years of waiting.
