INDIA RESOURCES REWRITES ITS SURDA RECORD BOOK AGAIN

India Resources has achieved the second successive record quarter at its Surda copper project, lifting sales for the three months to the end of September to 1,089t from 1,055t in the June quarter.
The Australian-based miner says the mine at Jharkand in India has processed more than 42,000t per month through the June and September quarters, the first time it has been able to sustain production at such levels.
India Resources, which reopened the mothballed Surda mine in 2007 and operates it on behalf of government-owned Hindustan Copper under a contract to 2014, has begun shaft sinking and mined development on a $A30.9M mine expansion contract for main contractor Shiram EPC.
The company has also signed a letter of intent for a five-year contract to develop and operate the Rakha copper mine for Hindustan Copper.
