Asciano Group (ASX:AIO) has signed a $200 million deal with Anglo American Metallurgical Coal Pty Ltd for coal haulage in Queensland.
Under the 9.5 year agreement the ports and rail operator will annually move 3.5 million tonnes of coal from Anglo American's Foxleigh coal mine from the 1 July 2012.
The latest deal adds to a contract both companies secured in June 2010 for Asciano to move 10.9 million tonnes of coal per annum from Anglo American's German Creek facility.
Asciano advises that as at 2012, Anglo American will have over 20 million tonnes per annum contracted to Asciano's subsidiary, Pacific National, in Queensland.
In the 2010 financial year Asciano Group posted a net loss of $975.9 million.
