Looks like the mines will still operate & part of the illegal activity was having raw ores processed in China
Obviously the arrest of VTRE bigwigs is potentially a massive blow to ASM however it doesn't really change the fact that Vietnam government wants to expand rare earths mining & processing - minus rogue operators
The path ahead could be tricky for ASM but Vietnam government obviously wants to look beyond China & has made arrests of people not acting in the best interests of expanding rare earths mining & processing in Vietnam
