That is just plain WRONG! ASX has replaced, completely, both it's equities and futures trading platforms in the last 5 years. It was in fact the cut-over to the new equities trading system that caused the trading disruption in March last year!
The system that is 25+ years old is CHESS, which is the equities clearing and settlement system. That is a different system to the actual trading platforms. And CHESS had nothing to do with the Mar '22 trading outage.
Reuters really need to lift their game with their reporting here - very low quality and factually incorrect.
