Atlas Iron Limited (ASX:AGO) says recent agreements between small iron ore players in the Pilbara has strengthened its ability to secure a deal to transport its iron ore, according to media reports.
Atlas Iron chairman David Flanagan says deals such as those involving Brockman Mining (ASX:BCK), Flinders Mines Limited (ASX:FMS), Fortescue Metals Group Limited (ASX:FMG) and Aurizon Holdings Limited (ASX:AZJ) have opened-up opportunities for Atlas to find third-party infrastructure opportunities.
Mr Flanagan says the group’s position on infrastructure is strong an that it remains in talks with other companies in the Pilbara.
Aurizon and Brockman recently inked a deal to develop and operate an independent rail line in the region.
Atlas's shares have fallen 55 per cent in the past year.
