Iron ore miner Atlas Iron Limited (ASX:AGO) has teamed up with Australia’s largest rail freight company QR National (ASX:QRN) and iron ore explorer Brockman Resources.
The companies have entered into an Alliance Study Agreement to evaluate a proposal for a rail link to port in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Under the agreement Atlas, QR and Brockman will share costs and resources required for the study, which is expected to be finished this year.
Brockman Resources was acquired by Hong Kong-listed investment company Wah Nam International earlier this year.
In the first half of the 2012 financial year Atlas Iron generated a net profit of $6.1 million.
