News: Ausenco to manage Barrick Gold expansion

Ausenco Limited (ASX:AAX) has signed a contract to manage the expansion of Barrick Gold Corporation’s (TSX:ABX, NYSE:ABX, LSE:ABX) Lumwana Copper Project in Zambia.

 

Ausenco’s management of the $125 million expansion will include expanding the existing ore crushing and processing plant at the Lumwana mine, to achieve and maintain a production rate of 25 million tonnes a year.

 

Ausenco posted a net profit of $7.7 million in the first six months of 2011.
