What is bad is the Governments claims in effect that a country in surplus is a well country, a whiz bang economy, when it is simply a petty cash account or a cash flow figure, and zero to do with the actual debts that will take a long time to pay off

Governments regardless of which political persuasion rarely ever pay off the Debt - unless they sold off our silverware.

That is the reality.

They are more interested in winning elections; and that means, spending the surplus here and there.
