Tan will be responsible for managing and implementing the next stage of AKA's strategic business objectives, which includes the commercialisation of the high purity alumina project in Western Australia.

Tan has been involved in the commissioning and start-up of seven resource projects in Australia and overseas.

HPA is a premium product that is used in high-performance electronic applications, such as tablets and mobile phone.

The company also recently signed a Heads of Agreement with engineering consultants METS Engineering for the advancement its Glenarty Creek Mineral Sands Project, also in Western Australia.

METS will undertake a series of studies to confirm the project’s economic viability, which contains a combined JORC resource of 807 million tonnes at 3.7% heavy mineral.

AKA is well funded and capitalised at under $10 million.
