nah UT, the COALition are foolishly trying target dissent and criticism. The conservative tyrants are proposing another legislation to protect and favour the politicians, famous and wealthy. And the are proposing to allow taxpayers funds to be used to pursue the defamation claims. You think your ordinary Tom dick and Harry are going to be able to get access to these funds?
Imagine the thousands of cases each year if some pleb feels they have been defamed by some clown on Facebook, Twitter or hotcopper. It’s not feasible and they limit the access to pollies and elites. No doubt the recent defamation loser CP has pushed for strongly supports this legislation.
You see I wouldn’t even be surprised if it eventually came out that the near million received from by CP to pay for the legal cost is tax payer funds being diverted from somewhere.
