    Hi Mojo,
I would prefer that they no longer subsidised the Ponzi scheme .
Perhaps the money might be better spent rebuilding Australia's public housing stock.
Still have the construction work, end up with the asset.
I would regard the subsidy of individuals owning an EV as akin to the present housing support, poorly targeted and mainly helping the well off.
Building the networks that will allow EV's to flourish , the equivalent of the public housing stock.
And yes, I would prefer it remained substantially in public ownership.

    And Old Bull,
Come the Revolution, when I am installed as Dictator for Life , Australia will look a lot more like Scandinavia than it does now.
They demonstrate that higher taxes, higher public ownership, good public services and a gentler , more cooperative way of ordering a society, is not incompatible with success.
It will probably have a similar EV penetration, and it will , I hope, have achieved that without excessive use of government funds , subsidizing my desire to drive around in a Tesla to impress the neighbours and to drive serenely past one of the poor people in their [largely unsubsidised] 2nd hand ICE Hyundai.

    good night all
