I wonder if the Chinese will trump the other MOUs in order to secure the supply for homeland use. They produce a lot of SOP already but it's my understanding it's very expensive so maybe 400ktpa from Phase 1 will complement it.
I read an article this morning that states that the potash industry (largely MOP) must consolidate if it want to survive. The big players are getting hammered and will look to outside of Canada and Americas for new opps - particularly for SOP which has a theoretical floor price of the price to convert MOP to SOP.
