LOL.... funny how we assume, now the bad boys have been raped over the knuckles for the GFC, they will conduct 'business' in a more legal/ethical way. WRONG. In reality nothing has changed, it's probably got worse because there hasn't been any new legislation to combat their excesses. Our politicians are on ego trips to adequately spend any time to consider introducing responsible measures (also because there are too many lobbyists... which is a corruption of democratic government anyway). If a corporate responsible citizen like CBA is guilty of these alleged crimes, then what other activities do we not know about hidden behind the disguise of 'commercially sensitive information'. The lack of cooperation and the lack of honesty by these corporations is astounding. ASIC is a laugh, a joke, a waste of money.
I find it a triple conflict of interest when Banks can be a lender, broker, and trader. What inside information is past between these entities (which we individuals would consider strategic, unethical or perhaps illegal), but the backroom boys have determined their 'activities' will more than compensate for being caught, ....if caught at all. You can't send a bank to jail, and when individuals (unethically) use their own corporations to finance their massive legal costs, you know the bent legal practitioners will get them off. The result of this action is years, if not decades away. COME ON POLLIES, time to change A LOT of company laws.
