If the IGO and the Water Corporation VRB trial's prove successful ( which knowing about the VRB tech seems very positive ) that will really open the floodgates for VRB's in Australia and cement a place for them in power storage.

Marketing a completely new and unknown tech in direct competition to one of the highest profile billionaire / celebrity icons / egomaniacs in the world Elon Musk is no easy feat !

Particularly when he also has our Aussie mate and his bestest buddy Mike Cannon-Brookes firmly on his side, and after the massive publicity stunt he and Musk pulled together for the SA Battery Installation with Malcolm Turnbull swooning like a lovesick schoolgirl on his much publicised phone call with Elon Musk.
That already 5 year old (2017) South Australian Lithium Ion battery must be tick tick ticking away toward the end of it's lifecycle as we speak.

It's a credit to management that they even managed to get IGO and The Water Corporation to see past all of that BS and give the VRB's a trial.
They could just as easily gone with Li Ion and I bet there was plenty of pressure / persuasion to do just that.
There must have been some heavy duty convincing and number crunching going on considering who / what they are up against.

IGO and Water Corp are obviously open to the real potential of VRB's being a superior option to Li Ion.
