Clearly, keatz nailed it. Not one mention of environmental governance in FFX presentations. The AVZ operation plan centers around powering the mining operations with hydro and solar. There may be offtakes to China, but management is setting their sights on Europe. In years to come, the Chinese consumers could possibly demand environmental governance from their suppliers.
My read on the FFX ann was twofold. First, that China's Li needs are clearly outstripping their internal production, very early in the electric adoption cycle. And second, that African production is already playing a role in the global Li supply.
The first thing I did after seeing Klein's twitter post this morning was buy another 150k sh from an insanely ill-liquid US gray market where there were two buyers today.
