    Plant is old and maintenance costs must be high
    it operates at Cash costs $410/t compared to Pinjarra & Wagerup at $250/t, as reported in the announcements.
    wonder what the energy cost component is ?
    Bad news for the Perth southern suburbs.
    Alcoa may be able to redeploy personnel but the job losses will result in jobs lost in other areas of the local economy.
