Maybe all the naysayers about lithium were right and it's not a 'to the moon' resource? Not to say it's not profitable, but there is a lot of supply out there and demand has weakened, and that can't be controlled.
I'd say that MinRes are just not wanting to be overextended until they see some market recovery. AZS may be world class but it's a big carry if the market slump drags on.
As for Reinhart, can she soak up all the best lithium in Australia and keep pushing forward until the lithium market recovers and make HPPL even more successful? Who knows?
