A problem at the moment is Russian dumping into the less than prime hard metallurgical coal market to get around the sanctions. The prices received by BCB are well under the prime hard indicator. Ellensvale is, they say, quite a bit higher grade so will it be above the grade categories Russia is discounting into?
One operation, Beaconsfield is running with two teams and is paying for them and the three teams now working on Ellensvale which is not yet producing revenue. They are also short staffed at the mines. I have been thinking about offering to go up there and drive a dump truck- it pays $100-$120k a year before tax with 3 weeks on 7 days a week 12 hours a day and two weeks off, from memory. I'm 74 and pretty fit, but if young women can do it, surely I can. They wouldn't have to pay super either. Boring as hell but someone gotta do it.
